Later, with the transformation of this technology from military industry and national defense to high-tech R & D and application, deuterated reagent chemicals were derived. At present, the domestic deuterated compound synthesis technology is backward, and most deuterated reagents (such as deuterium water, deuterium gas, deuterated methanol and other basic raw materials) still rely on imports. The cost of deuterated API is high, which has become a key bottleneck restricting the R & D and industrialization of deuterated drugs in China. For example, deuterated drugs have no obvious advantages compared with the original drugs (such as improvement in effective dose, administration frequency, scope of indications, safety, etc.), and it will be more difficult for deuterated drugs to obtain better market returns after the expiration of the patent of the original drugs and the introduction of generic drugs to the market. In the follow-up, paying attention to the development of independent deuterated compound synthesis technology, promoting the industrial production of commonly used deuterated reagents, especially deuterated water, so that Chinese enterprises can prepare deuterated drugs with relatively cheap deuterated raw materials as deuterium source, which will become one of the key elements for the success of China's deuterated drug industry.
